New Life Joins Hands with MTR to Offer Heartfelt Support in Tai Po


Following the tragic fire incident in Tai Po, New Life and MTR have jointly set up a psychological support station at Tai Po Market Station. The station aims to deliver warmth and support to residents of Wang Fuk Court as they return to their homes to retrieve their belongings. The support station also provides psychological aid and distributes care packages to individuals directly or indirectly affected by the fire.

Jockey Club TCM-Driven Mental Wellness Project

International Forum on Chinese Medicine and Mental Wellness Concludes Successfully


The International Forum on Chinese Medicine and Mental Wellness, organised by the Jockey Club TCM-Driven Mental Wellness Project, was held on 29 March at Hong Kong Baptist University. The forum brought together experts and scholars from Hong Kong, Mainland China and other parts of the world to share the latest clinical research findings and practical experiences on common mental health issues in Hong Kong, including insomnia, depression and anxiety. It also facilitated in-depth discussions on cross-disciplinary collaboration between Chinese Medicine and mental health services. Professor Annie TAM Kam-lan, GBS, JP (front row, second from right), Chairperson of the Executive Committee of New Life, and Mr. Thomas CHU (back row, first from left), Chief Executive Officer of New Life, were invited to serve as officiating guests at the opening ceremony, witnessing this meaningful cross-disciplinary exchange.

Ms. Cindy YIU Yan-yee (second from left), Head of Professional Service (Community Services), shared the Association’s experience, service outcomes and insights on the future development of the self-management and support model for individuals presenting early signs of emotional distress.

New Life Participates in ‘Walking Together – Social Workers’ Run 2026’

The annual signature event "Walking Together – Social Workers’ Run 2026", organised by the Hong Kong Social Workers Association, concluded successfully on 12 April at Wu Kai Sha. As one of the supporting organisations, New Life dispatched over 60 participants, including staff, family members, service users and partners to join the event.

Officiated by Mr Chris SUN, JP (back row, twelfth from left), Secretary for Labour and Welfare; Mr. CHAN Tsz-ming (back row, ninth from right), Director of the Department of Social Affairs of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR; Ms Nancy KWAN, JP, Deputy Director of Social Welfare (Administration); Ms Maggie LEUNG, JP, Deputy Director of Social Welfare (Services); and Professor Annie TAM Kam-lan, GBS, JP (back row, eleventh from right), Chairperson of the Executive Committee of New Life, and Mr. Thomas CHU (back row, second from right), Chief Executive Officer of New Life, together with other representatives of the Association, were also present to cheer on all participants.

New Life extends its heartfelt gratitude to every participant for their enthusiastic involvement, as the Association continues to walk alongside its service users, and united in purpose.

gift330 Invited to Hyatt Regency Tsim Sha Tsui for Charity Sale

New Life’s social enterprise, gift330, has been invited by Hyatt Regency Tsim Sha Tsui to a charity sale held at the hotel’s café and the Regency Club. By showcasing art products created by persons in mental recovery, the initiative not only enabled gift330 to generate economic returns for the Association’s service users, but also helped the broader community appreciate the talents of persons in recovery. The event offered a hands-on experience of the therapeutic warmth of art, and conveyed a positive message of social inclusion.

Kwai Shing Sheltered Workshop Selected as Beneficiary for 2026 World Social Work Day Event

Kwai Shing Sheltered Workshop has been selected as one of the benefiting organisations for the 2026 World Social Work Day: "Together We Progress” event, organised by the Hong Kong Social Workers Association. Representatives of the Association visited the Workshop, with social work students participating in a soap making workshop. Professor FUNG Chi-ho (second from right), Convenor of the event, presented a soap gift on behalf of the Association to the Workshop staff. Professor FUNG also gave high praise to the Workshop’s service quality along with its upgraded environment and training programmes, with particular commendation for the capabilities of the service users.

Kwai Shing Sheltered Workshop Organises Inclusion Event with Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Kwai Chung)

On 26 March, Kwai Shing Sheltered Workshop collaborated with students from the Higher Diploma in Medical Centre Operation programme at the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Kwai Chung), to host a mental health and inclusion event. The event aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of mental health, deepen awareness of persons in recovery and foster community inclusion. Through the day‘s workshops, students engaged in meaningful exchanges and interactions with the Workshop’s service users, while also enriching participants’ knowledge of mental wellness and nutrition. This partnership deepened students‘ understanding of the relevant issues and the potential of persons in recovery, embodying the concept of harmonious inclusion.

New Life Participates in Hong Kong Ferry Event 

Service Users Make Tofu Pudding On-site

New Life was invited by Hong Kong Ferry (Holdings) Company Limited to take part in its staff birthday party on 30 March. By promoting "O’Beans” organic soy milk and making tofu pudding on-site, the event showcased the achievements of professional training received by New Life’s service users. The activity was well received by Hong Kong Ferry’s staff, helping them understand the Association’s brand and social enterprise mission, while facilitating exchanges between the business and the social sector.

Mindfulness Mobile App Relaunched with Brand-New Look


newlife.330, a project under the Association, has relaunched its mindfulness-themed mobile application "newlife.330” with a fresh new look. This evidence-based and user-centred mindfulness app helps users effortlessly integrate mindfulness into their daily lives. In just 10 minutes each day, users can engage in audio-guided practices, receive personalised recommendations and enjoy immersive experiences, focusing on their breathing, calming their minds and gradually cultivating a stable rhythm to harmonise body and mind. The app helps user establish a new "330 micro-break” daily habit to achieve comprehensive holistic wellness.
