Siu Lam Long Term Care Home & Goodwell Property Management Co. Ltd. Joint Volunteer Initiative

On 19 July, the "Family Photo Day” volunteer event, jointly organised by Siu Lam Long Term Care Home and Goldwell Property Management Ltd. was a great success. The event centred around themes of building self-confidence and creating warm experiences. Through activities such as taking family portraits, crafting heartfelt photo frames, and touring the facility, the residents were able to enjoy quality weekend time with their loved ones. Meanwhile, volunteers gained a deeper understanding of the everyday needs of persons in recovery, fostering greater community-business collaboration.

Ms. Emma YUEN Lai-san (left), Superintendent of Siu Lam Long Stay Care Home, celebrated the success of the event alongside representatives from Goldwell Property Management.

New Life is grateful for the support of Goldwell Property Management and looks forward to collaborating with other companies and organisations in future volunteer events to help the public better understand the Association’s services.

Vocational Rehabilitation Services Participate in Charity Sales Exhibition

Units under New Life’s Vocational Rehabilitation Services were invited by AECOM to take part in the company’s internal "A Charity Event”. During the sales exhibition, New Life’s service users promoted a range of unique products crafted by persons in mental recovery, including handmade items, health foods, and household cleaning products. The event also introduced the Association’s vocational rehabilitation services, showcasing the service users’ distinctive talents. It helped raise public awareness of mental health and increased recognition of New Life’s homegrown brands, encouraging greater attention to mental wellbeing.

dayday330 was invited by Hong Kong Metropolitan University’s Li Ka Shing School of Professional and Continuing Education (HKMU LiPACE) to join its large-scale mental health promotion event: "HKMU LiPACE ‘Uni.Mind Wellbeing” Mental Health Exhibition”, held at D‧PARK in Tsuen Wan.

This initiative was the first-ever, territory-wide mental health promotion project in Hong Kong led entirely by tertiary students and presented in the form of a public exhibition.

As one of the event’s supporting organisations, New Life hosted an interactive booth featuring information on holistic wellbeing. Through engaging games, visitors explored the five ways to wellbeing. The booth also promoted the [330] Wellbeing Index and the concept of "330 micro-breaks”, helping visitors understand the importance of maintaining holistic wellbeing. The response was overwhelmingly positive.
