dayday330 Well-being & Sports Carnival @ Cyberport Advocate "330 micro break” Through A Series Of Sports Activities
On 30 March, the "dayday330 Well-being & Sports Carnival @ Cyberport” organised by New Life was successfully held with over 2,000 members of the public participating in more than 20 activities that combined sports and holistic well-being elements. The Carnival’s opening ceremony gathered nearly 120 guests, including government officials, representatives from District Services & Community Care Teams, NGOs, and business partners.
Officiating the opening ceremony were: Mr Chris SUN, JP, Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Dr LAM Ching-choi, SBS, JP, Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Mental Health, Ms Vega WONG, JP, Commissioner for Rehabilitation at Labour and Welfare Bureau, Ms Maggie LEUNG Yee-lee, Assistant Director of Social Welfare (Rehabilitation and Medical Social Services), Dr Loletta So, Cluster Chief Executive of Hong Kong East Cluster at Hospital Authority, Dr LEUNG Yiu-hong, Head of Health Promotion Branch at Department of Health, together with New Life’s representatives: Patron, the Hon. HO Sai-chu, GBM, GBS, JP, President, Professor Fanny CHEUNG Mui-ching, SBS, OBE, JP and Chairperson, Miss Annie TAM Kam-lan, GBS, JP.

Collaboration with ‘Shall We Talk’ inspires a journey of well-being
New Life partnered with "Shall We Talk” to set up a "dayday330 x Shall We Talk well-being measurement station” at the Carnival. The station introduced the "330 Health Index”, a self-assessment tool launched by NLPRA in collaboration with The Chinese University of Hong Kong, as well as the extensive mental health resources available on the "Shall We Talk” website. It also served as one of the checkpoints for the "330 Treasure Hunt Challenge”.

Gathering Materials In ‘330 treasure hunt challenge’ For ‘DIY Easter egg competition’
The "330 Treasure Hunt Challenge” was a checkpoint challenge that tested participants’ physical and mental strength, as well as their teamwork. Each team was required to complete nine checkpoints using the provided challenge map and clues, and collect equipment and materials for the "DIY Easter egg competition”, where they created a one-of-a-kind Easter egg with their family members. A total of 32 awards were presented, including six Outstanding Piece awards, six Most Creative Piece awards, and 20 Merit awards. All winners received exquisite prizes, certificates and medals.


Activities To Foster Holistic Well-Being, Sports Workshops And Seminars For Releasing Stress
At the carnival, there were five unique workshops that blended various sports elements, including Laughter Yoga, Boxing Dance, Parent-Child Yoga, Nourishing "Baduanjin”, and Happy Zumba. These workshops allowed participants to explore the nuances of physical conditioning and mental exploration during exercises. Clinical Psychologists from New Life also hosted two "330 seminars” with the themes of "Little Tips for a Healthier Life: Moving towards Holistic Well-being” and "Enhancing Parent-Child Relationships through ‘Five Ways to Promote Body, Mind, and Spirit Well-being’”. The two sessions covered five evidence-based tips to alleviate stress and ways to manage their emotions to promote holistic well-being.

Special General Assembly Cum Spring Dinner
On 22 Mar, New Life held its Special General Assembly cum Spring Dinner at a restaurant in Shek Mun. Professor Fanny CHEUNG Mui-ching, SBS, OBE, JP, President of New Life, delivered her welcome speech at the General Assembly; Miss Annie TAM Kam-lan, GBS, JP, Chairperson of New Life introduced the proposed amendments to the organisation’s constitution and terms.

New Life’s Spring Dinner was held after a four-year hiatus, with the theme "A New Year Welcome With A Dragon’s Leap”. The dinner was a lively scene with 79 tables, welcoming members of the Executive Committee and Subcommittees, together with around a thousand service users and their family members. At the banquet, New Life’s President, Professor Fanny CHEUNG Mui-ching, SBS, OBE, JP, and Chairperson, Miss Annie TAM Kam-lan, GBS, JP, took part in an eye-dotting and flower-pinning ceremony to kick off a ceremonial lion dance.

Tuen Mun Long Stay Care Home Take Part In
Municipal Solid Waste Charging Demonstration Scheme
New Life’s Tuen Mun Long Stay Care Home is one of the premises under the Municipal Solid Waste Charging Demonstration Scheme. On 1 Apr, Mr Tse Chin-wan, Secretary for Environment and Ecology, and Dr Samuel Chui, Director of Environmental Protection, inspected the Long Stay Care Home to understand the preparatory work and the actual operation, including the collection, classification, and recycling of waste.

‘Sparkling Guangdong’ 2024 World Autism Awareness Day
The day of 2 April is officially declared as World Autism Awareness Day to raise awareness of autism in the general community. New Life was invited to participate in a symposium jointly organised by the Guangdong Association for the Promotion of Mental Health and the Dongguan Mental Health Association to share with experts and colleagues from Guangdong Province and Macau the service experience of New Life in supporting adults with autism, and to have in-depth exchanges with experts from different cities to explore how to achieve "lifelong service, all-round care”, and support the development and growth of people with autism.
New Life hopes to foster the public’s understanding of the characteristics and needs of people with autism, contribute to greater social inclusion and acceptance, and help people with autism integrate into society.

‘Connecting Hearts 3 on 3 Basketball Games‘

From 6 to 7 April, New Life participated in the "Connecting Hearts 3 on 3 Basketball Games” at the Wanchai Southorn Stadium. Chairperson of the Organising Committee New Life’s Chairperson, Miss Annie TAM Kam-lan, GBS, JP attended the event as the Chairperson of Connecting Hearts Organising Committee, and cheered for the athletes together with New Life’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Thomas Chu Sai-ming.

farmfresh330 Claim ‘Consumer Caring Company’ For Five Years
New Life’s social enterprise farmfresh330 has been awarded the "Consumer Caring Company” by GS1 Hong Kong for five consecutive years. Mr Thomas Chu Sai-ming, Chief Executive Officer of New Life received the award on behalf of the company.
farmfresh330 provides organic, healthy ingredients and environmentally friendly products, with emphasis on the promotion of holistic wellbeing. It also helps create opportunities for people in recovery from mental illness to work and integrate into society. farmfresh330 will continue to improve its operations, products, and service quality, creating extraordinary customer experiences, and providing more job opportunities for people in recovery.

Celebrating Neurodiversity Celebration Week
New Life’s iSPA-Support Center for Persons with Autism took part in the Neurodiversity Celebration Week organised by HSBC, with booths and showcases at HSBC Centre and HSBC Main Building. Backgrounds and relevant information about Neurodiversity and Autism were introduced to the participants. Through the use of VR technology, participants were able to gain first-hand experience of the challenges and difficulties faced by people with autism in the workplace.

New Life’s team was also invited to the British Consulate General in Hong Kong to participate in a movie show organised by HSBC. During the event, our team shared information regarding New Life’s service for people with Autism with the audience, and had a meaningful exchange with representatives from other NGOs.
New Life hopes to enhance greater public awareness of people with Autism, understanding more about their characteristics and needs. Together we aim to build a more inclusive and diversified society.

New Life And MTR Jointly Launch ‘dayday330 x MTR Mindfulness Journey’ Practice
Fostering Passengers’ Holistic Wellbeing

New Life's dayday330 and MTR Corporation (MTR) jointly announced the launch of the "dayday330 x MTR Mindfulness Journey" Practice. Making use of a short audio guide, the Practice aims to enable passengers to be aware of their feelings and body sensations in the present moment while travelling on the MTR network, and to enjoy a mindful journey while enhancing their body, mind and spirit well-being.
With the topic of "Being aware of your 330 well-being in every journey”, "dayday330 x MTR Mindfulness Journey" Practice, consists of six sessions of audio-guided mindful practice, allowing passengers to experience mindfulness in their journey on MTR. The practice was designed by New Life’s clinical psychologists and narrated by veteran artist and mindful parenting instructor Ms Lily Poon. Each session of the practice ranges from four to 11 minutes and is available in Cantonese and English. Starting on 15 April, MTR and dayday330 have featured a session of audio-guided mindful practice every Monday through the "Latest News" section of the MTR Mobile app.

City'super Visits
New Life Farm
Representatives from City'super, a mega lifestyle department store and a client of New Life Farm, enjoyed a meaningful visit at the New Life Farm. The Kawano Family from Kawano Farm and Mr Araki, from City’super Japan’s Fukuoka office learned about how New Life’s vocational rehabilitation services help service users acquire social and work skills in the organic farming practice, and prepare for further employment and integrate into society. The participants also exchanged insights and experiences in farming to help cultivate better agricultural products with higher quality.

The New Life Farm’s products are available for sale in City’super in Hong Kong, including organic vegetables and plants, promoting the hard work and results made by our service users.

"Joyous Elderly” At Fairwood Kwai Shing East Estate
The Project collaborated with Fairwood to host an elderly event at one of the Fairwood restaurants at Kwai Shing East Estate. Fairwood’s staff took part in various games with our elderly members and served complimentary food to them. Together all participants enjoyed a wonderful afternoon.

New Life Farm In Organic Day 2024
New Life Farm was once again invited to join this year’s Organic Day, organised by Hong Kong Organic Resource Centre at Chater Road Pedestrian Precinct in Central. Various organic farm products were showcased to the visitors. Through this engagement, New Life hopes to promote its farm products that demonstrate the hard work and results made by our service users, and enhance the public awareness of New Life’s vocational rehabilitation services.
