Joint Launch Ceremony Cum Open Week Of "Connecting Hearts” Integrated Community Centres For Mental Wellness Successfully Held
On 2 March, a joint launch ceremony cum open week of Integrated Community Centres for Mental Wellness (ICCMWs) was successfully held by Hong Kong SAR Government's Labour and Welfare Bureau and Social Welfare Department, Connecting Hearts, as well as 11 NGOs that operate these community centres, including New Life. Mr Chris Sun, JP, Secretary for Labour and Welfare, was the guest of honour at the event.
The ceremony was attended by over 500 guests and participants, including members from the Executive Council, the Legislative Council, and the District Council; officials from the Social Welfare Department, the Hong Kong Housing Authority, and the Home Affairs Department; representatives from the Hong Kong Housing Authority and other public organisations. Other participants included representatives and staff from NGOs that operate ICCMWs, social welfare organisations, private institutions, and schools.

At the event, booths were set up by ICCMWs' operating organisations to provide participants with more information about the services offered at the centres.

The 24 ICCMWs across different districts held a joint open week from 5 to 18 March, with various activities organised to showcase the services offered and raise public awareness about mental health.
New Life operates seven ICCMWs across different districts in Hong Kong, including Islands District, Yau Tsim Mong, Sham Shui Po, Kwai Tsing, Sha Tin, Yuen Long, and Tuen Mun.

Throughout the open week, our ICCMWs hosted various activities, including workshops, booths, guided tours, sharing sessions, and performances. These events aimed to help the public better understand the community mental wellness support services provided by the centre. Members of the public are encouraged to seek assistance from the centre, thus promoting a mental health-friendly city.
