New Life Launches First Recycling Store In Tuen Mun’s Public Housing Estate

In support of the Environmental Protection Department’s initiative to expand the "GREEN@COMMUNITY” community recycling network to more public housing estates, New Life was entrusted by the authority with operating recycling stores in public housing estates in Tuen Mun and Wong Tai Sin in December 2023.

New Life’s first recycling store "GREEN@ON TING” commenced operations on 29 January 2024. Smart recycling service is available at the store to encourage and facilitate residents from On Ting Estate and nearby areas to take part in self-service recycling.

In addition to "GREEN@ON TING”, New Life is delighted to expand its recycling service in February and March, with the introduction of "GREEN@WU KING” in Tuen Mun, and "GREEN@CHUK YUEN” and "GREEN@WANG TAU HOM” in Wong Tai Sin. Through these service units, New Life aims to promote green recycling and instill environmental awareness in the community.

Since 2018, New Life has been operating the "GREEN@KWAI TSING” recycling station, promoting environmental education in the community. The newly established recycling stores not only reinforce our advocacy for environmental protection, but also provide valuable vocational training opportunities for people in recovery as they serve in the stores and interact with the community, contributing to a more inclusive society. New Life’s service users with suitable abilities could be offered positions on either full time or part time basis at these service units, providing more job opportunities in the green industry.

Kwai Shing Sheltered Workshop Celebrates Lunar New Year At Kwai Luen Estate

In collaboration with the Hong Kong Housing Authority, New Life’s Kwai Shing Sheltered Workshop organised a New Year giveaway campaign for elderly residents at Kwai Luen Estate. The 200 gift bags, ordered by the Hong Kong Housing Authority, were meticulously prepared by New Life. These bags contained various products from the Sheltered Workshops, including organic drinks, snacks, special "rwb” bags, aroma stone coasters, and washing soaps. New Life’s service users distributed these gift bags to the residents. Through this well-received event, New Life aims to foster a greater understanding of people in recovery and introduce the community to our service philosophy and products.
