New Life Farm Fest: Launching Ceremony and Funfair Successfully Held
New Life Farm’s optimisation project, which began in late 2023 in collaboration with Sun Hung Kai Properties Limited, was successfully completed at the end of 2025. In celebration, an launching ceremony and funfair was held on 7 February, marking a new chapter for the Farm's services.

The Guest of Honour for the event was Mr. Chris SUN, JP (centre), Secretary for Labour and Welfare. Also attending in support were Mr. CHAN Tsz-ming (sixth from right), Director of the Department of Social Affairs of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR; Ms. Maggie LEUNG, JP (fourth from left), Deputy Director of Social Welfare (Services); Mr. David NG (third from left), Assistant Director of Social Welfare; Mr. Peter MA (second from left), Assistant Director of Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation; Mr. FUNG Pak-yan, BBS (fourth from right), Chairman of the Rehabilitation Advisory Committee; and Mr. Emil YU, BBS, JP (second from right), Chairman of the Public Education Sub-committee on Rehabilitation under the Rehabilitation Advisory Committee.

Thanks for the continued supports
The Association is grateful for the continued support from across sectors. The growth and development of New Life Farm over the years would not have been possible without the backing of various partners and the wider community, as well as the dedication of New Life’s staff and service users. At this event, the Association presented souvenirs to several partners, long-serving staff members and service users in recognition of their invaluable support and contributions.


Joint Tree-Planting for a Sustainable 330 Health
During the event, several guests were invited to join the tree-planting activity alongside New Life representatives, including Professor Fanny CHEUNG Mui Ching, SBS, OBE, JP (second from right); Vice-Presidents, Dr. Chris WONG Kwok-yiu (sixth from right) and Ms. Susan SO CHAN Wai-hang, SBS, BBS (third from left); Chairperson of the Executive Committee, Professor Annie TAM Kam-lan, GBS, JP (second from left); and CEO, Mr. Thomas CHU Sai-ming (first from left). This symbolised the Association and all sectors of the community sowing seeds of hope together, working hand in hand to create a green, sustainable and healthy future for the body (3), mind (3) and spirit (0).

Special eco-tour, an in-depth look at the Farm
A special eco-tour was arranged for guests, offering an in-depth look at the Farm's new environment and facilities. This allowed them to experience first-hand the more comprehensive operations following the optimisation project, which further strengthened the promotion of vocational rehabilitation training, the practice of organic farming and green living. This fully embodies New Life's core mission of promoting recovery and community integration.

Fun Day Participation: Relaxing the Body, Mind and Spirit
On the day of the event, the Farm also set up various game booths and experiential workshops, allowing members of the public to participate and experience the concepts of body-mind-spirit wellness and green living firsthand. The Farm also invited several performance troupes to the stage, adding to the festive atmosphere.

New Life Staff Member Wins ‘Most Inspiring Social Worker’ Award
Ms. Emma YUEN Lai-san, Superintendent of Siu Lam Long Stay Care Home, stood out from over a hundred nominees to receive one of the ten "Most Inspiring Social Worker – Merit Award" honours at the awards organised by the Hong Kong Social Workers' Association.

The award presentation ceremony was successfully held on 10 February. Mr. Chris SUN, JP (second row, eleventh from right), Secretary for Labour and Welfare, and Ms. Alice LAU, JP (third row, ninth from left), Permanent Secretary for Labour and Welfare, graced the occasion as presenters. Also attending in support were government officials and Legislative Council members, including Mr. Edward TO, JP (third row, seventh from left), Director of Social Welfare; Dr. LAM Ching-choi, GBS, JP (third row, tenth from left), Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Mental Health; as well as Professor Annie TAM Kam-lan, GBS, JP (second row, eighth from right), Chairperson of the Executive Committee of New Life, and Mr. Thomas CHU Sai-ming (second row, sixth from right), CEO of New Life. The Association sincerely thanks everyone for their continued support and efforts, working together to contribute to body (3), mind (3) and spirit (0) health, and jointly promoting positive social development.

‘Caring Company’ Scheme Commendation Ceremony: New Life Nominates Over 90 Companies/Organisations
The Hong Kong Council of Social Service held the 2024/25 "Caring Company" Scheme Commendation Ceremony on 22 January, honouring a total of 3,500 benevolent companies and organisations.

The Association was honoured with the "Most Partner Nominations" award. Mr. Thomas CHU Sai-ming (fifth from left), CEO of New Life, received the award.
In the 2024/25 year, the Association was honoured to partner with many companies and organisations, successfully nominating 96 of them to receive recognition under the "Caring Company" Scheme. New Life looks forward to joining hands with more organisations in the coming year, working together to contribute to community integration and body (3), mind (3) and spirit (0) wellbeing!

Guangzhou Yang Ai Special Children Parent Club Visits Jockey Club Sun Workshop (Tin King)
Guangzhou Yang Ai Special Children Parent Club visited the Association's service unit, the Jockey Club Sun Workshop (Tin King), and exchanged ideas with the unit's service users and staff to learn about the services provided. Through this visit, the Workshop introduced the Club members to the Association's vocational rehabilitation services and the various training programmes available at the centre, including the woodwork team, catering team and laundry team. Participants praised the unit's diverse services and service users’ positive atmosphere.


Kwai Shing Sheltered Workshop Holds Eco-friendly DIY Workshop at Kwai Luen Estate
Kwai Shing Sheltered Workshop was once again invited by the Hong Kong Housing Authority to hold an eco-friendly DIY workshop at Kwai Luen Estate in mid-January 2026. With the assistance of workshop staff and service users, local residents learned to make small crafts such as aroma sand pictures, leather keychains and scented diffuser boards. Through these craft-making activities, participants learned to relax their body, mind and spirit (330), and became more familiar with the Association's services. On the event day, residents were also given goodie bags containing products made by the Association's service users, and they were full of praise for the quality of these items.


Kwai Shing Sheltered Workshop Introduces Services at IVE (Kwai Chung)
Kwai Shing Sheltered Workshop was invited by the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Kwai Chung) to introduce the Association's services to students on the "Higher Diploma in Medical Centre Operations" programme. This activity aimed to enhance students' understanding of mental health, learn about the characteristics of persons in recovery and further promote community inclusion. The students plan to hold a series of activities for the Workshop’s trainees in March, allowing them to experience the daily work of the staff. The students actively brainstormed ideas for activities, demonstrating their interest and enthusiasm.

Kwai Shing Sheltered Workshop Participates in ‘Lions Clubs International Tseung Chui King College 30th Anniversary’
Kwai Shing Sheltered Workshop was invited by Lions Clubs International Tseung Chui King College to participate in its 30th Anniversary celebration event - "We Serve Day". Before the event, students visited the workshop to learn how to make handmade Italian pasta and scented plaster stones. This enabled them to hold workshops with the trainees at the school on the day of the event, leveraging their "shared advantages" to enhance interaction. The school also invited representatives from the Association's residential services to form a band, "Connect", to perform at the event. Two peer support workers in the band shared their recovery journeys with the students, and the performance brought the event to a perfect close.


Calligraphy Gathering for Spring Couplets: Social Enterprises Welcome the Year of the Horse
Social enterprises so330 and Cafe 388 held "Calligraphy Gathering" events on 8 and 13 February respectively, with calligraphy artist Mr. WONG Ying-sheung writing auspicious Spring Couplets on the spot for customers. The events saw enthusiastic participation from customers, who came together to celebrate the coming of the Year of the Horse, fully experiencing the festive atmosphere.

New Life Event Preview
[330 Day 2026] ‘Sensing Life’ – Five Senses in a City Journey
dayday330 is partnering with MTR Corporation, Eslite Bookstore, TamJai International Co. Ltd., and The Alchemist Cafe, along with the Association's own New Life Farm and social enterprises cafe330 and so330, to co-create "330 Day 2026". This event will launch the "Sensing Life–Five Senses in a City Journey " throughout March at over 200 locations across Hong Kong. The experience transforms every corner of the city into a sensory playground and offers citizens a brand new life adventure.
