The opening ceremony of the Connecting Hearts Guangdong Representative Office and the Signing Ceremony for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Social Service Cooperation Project was successfully held on 18 October. Mr. Thomas CHU Sai-ming, CEO of New Life, represented the Association in signing a Memorandum of Understanding with Chinese Mainland institutions, joining hands to promote the development of mental health services, autism services, vocational rehabilitation services and training within the Greater Bay Area.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by the following officiating guests: Mr. Chris SUN, JP, Secretary for Labour and Welfare; M. Edward TO, JP, Director of Social Welfare; Revd Canon Hon Peter Douglas KOON Ho-ming, SBS, JP, Chairman of Connecting Hearts; Professor Annie TAM Kam-lan, GBS, JP (third from left), Chairperson of the Executive Committee of New Life and Vice Chairperson of Connecting Hearts, and Dean of the Connecting Hearts Academy; Mr WANG Lichun, Deputy Director-General of the Society Work Department of the Guangdong Provincial Committee; and Dr ZHOU He, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Social Affairs of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR. In the future, New Life will continue to uphold its people-focused belief, working together to promote mental health services in the Greater Bay Area.

New Life Attends ‘Connecting Hearts‧National Day Celebration Cum 2025 Telling Good Social Welfare Stories Awards Ceremony’

The "Connecting Hearts‧National Day Celebration Cum 2025 Telling Good Social Welfare Stories Awards Ceremony” was successfully held on 9 October. Mr. Chris SUN, JP, Secretary for Labour and Welfare was the officiating guest, joined by some 750 participants from over 220 social welfare organisations and other sectors to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the People's Republic of China.

New Life's "Recharge‧Campus" Teacher-Student Taking Pause Experimental Project won the honourable mention as one of the "Social Welfare Projects Conducted in Hong Kong" in the competition. The project is dedicated to promoting a campus "break time” culture, enhancing the wellbeing of teachers and students and boosting their resilience. Over the past year, the project was launched in five secondary schools, helping teachers and students find inner calm by establishing habits of "taking a pause” and fostering mindfulness. New Life Announces Partnership with China Resources Logistics (Group) Company Limited/span>’

New Life signed a cooperation agreement with China Resources Logistics (Group) Company Limited and officially joined the CRLink Platform for the Supply of Daily Necessities. Professor Annie TAM Kam-lan, GBS, JP (fourth from right, back row), Chairperson of the Executive Committee of New Life, and Mr. Thomas CHU Sai-ming, (left, front row) CEO of the Association, and other New Life representatives attended the signing ceremony.

On the day of the ceremony, members of New Life were led by China Resources representatives on a tour of the China Resources Logistics Fo Tan District Patriotic and Pro-Hong Kong Study Base, learning about the development history of CR Enterprise and China Resources Logistics, and the history of China Resources' growth alongside Hong Kong. It is believed that with the support of the China Resources Logistics’ CRLink platform in the future, the quality and efficiency of the Association's services will be further enhanced.
New Life Awarded "Caring Employer" Medal 2025

New Life and its social enterprises were awarded the "Level 1 Disability Inclusion Supporter" and "Level 2 Disability Inclusion Employer" medals respectively at the "Caring Employer" Medal Presentation Ceremony 2025. This ceremony aimed to commend employers who actively hire and support persons with disabilities, promoting an inclusive workplace culture. The lively event attracted some 400 guests, award-winning employers, and representatives from the social welfare sector.

At the event, Mr Ho Kai-ming, JP, Under Secretary for Labour and Welfare, interacted with employer representatives that are in partnership with New Life, at the booth set up by Jockey Club Collaborativve Project for Inclusive Employment. He was introduced about how the Association assists persons with disabilities to realise their potential and contributes to an inclusive workplace.
In the future, New Life will continue its dedication to creating more diverse and fair employment opportunities, promoting persons with disabilities to shine in the workplace.
New Life Participates in ‘Goodwell LEAF Charity Carnival cum Sports For All Challenge’ 2025

New Life was invited by Goodwell Property Management Limited to participate as its social welfare organisation partner in the Goodwell LEAF Charity Carnival cum Sports For All Challenge 2025. The event concluded successfully at Ma On Shan Plaza. Ms. CHAN Tsz-man (second from left), General Manager (Professional Services) (Clinical Psychological Services, Training, Research and Development), attended the event's kick-off ceremony.

New Life's "dayday330" also set up a booth activity at the venue, introducing the 330 Wellbeing Index and five ways to wellbeing to the public. The index allows the public to conveniently assess their own wellbeing status by answering simple questions.
The booth also introduced the concept of "330 micro-break” to the public, encouraging everyone to engage in some activities they enjoy every day, focusing their attention on the present moment.
New Life Participates in ‘Walk Up Jardine House 2025’

New Life sent representatives to participate in the "Walk Up Jardine House 2025" competition, organised by the Jardines Group and its charitable initiative "MINDSET” on 12 October. Five of the Association's service users challenged the Social Welfare Organisations Relay Race, climbing the 49-storey Jardine House by walking and running. The high-spirited event attracted many participants striving for good results and demonstrating inspiring team spirit.
On that day, New Life's "dayday330" also set up a booth at the venue, introducing the 330 Wellbeing Index and five ways to wellbeing to the participants, promoting the important concept of dayday330 for overall wellbeing.
Goodwell Property Management Limited ‘Overflowing with Care Mid-Autumn Festival’ Volunteer Activity at Jockey Club Sun Workshop

Goodwell Property Management Limited visited the Jockey Club Sun Workshop and held a Mid-Autumn Festival themed volunteer activity for the Workshop's service users. The activity involved volunteers leading a chair aerobics session, guiding the service users to move their bodies and relax with a light warm-up exercise. Volunteers also prepared festive activities such as lantern riddle guessing, card games and lantern making, allowing the service users to immerse themselves in the festive joy.
Causeway Bay Crowne Plaza Hotel Participates in Candle Making Workshop at Kwai Shing Sheltered Workshop

Kwai Shing Sheltered Workshop was invited to arrange a candle making workshop for the staff of the Causeway Bay Crowne Plaza Hotel. Under the guidance of instructors from Kwai Shing Sheltered Workshop, participants handcrafted their very own unique flowing sand candles.
Staff from the Association also introduced New Life's services to the participants and invited them to join an on-the-spot "three-minute breathing" exercise, promoting the dayday330 message.

Approved by the Social Welfare Department, New Life’s Flag Day will take place on 10 January, 2026 (Saturday).
