New Life’s Flag Day Successfully Held
"New Life’s Flag Day was successfully held on 13 January, after a five-year hiatus. The event saw participation from more than 3,700 volunteers, including our staff, service users, their families, and volunteers from various sectors such as companies, organisations, and schools.

New Life extends its sincere gratitude to all volunteers, including those from Link REIT, Standard Chartered Bank, Goodwell Property Management Limited and La Salle Primary School, as well as donors and the general public. Their support, service, donations, and purchases of gold flags have been invaluable in promoting mental health public education. The funds raised will be used to expand our self-financed services themed "Care & Innovation”, promote greater social inclusion, support the self-reliance of people in recovery, and raise public awareness of mental health to achieve holistic well-being.

Highlights of New Life’s Flag Day

Selling social enterprise products at the Hong Kong Brands And Products Expo
New Life’s Vocational Rehabilitation Service unit was invited by the Social Welfare Department to set up a booth at the 56th Hong Kong Brands And Products Expo. This provided an opportunity to showcase our service philosophy and sell products from New Life’s social enterprises, including handicrafts, soap, snacks, and organic herbal tea.
These products, made by New Life’s service users, were of excellent quality and had pleasant appearances, attracting many visitors.

so330’s "330 New Year of the Dragon - Supporting Social Enterprises” Bazaar
so330 held a "330 New Year of the Dragon - Supporting Social Enterprises” Bazaar on 14 January, selling various social enterprise products, including household cleaning products from Chuk Yuen Integrated Work Centre, and organic radish cakes and handmade chocolates from Delight Kitchen. By selecting these products, customers can support social enterprises and conscientious consumption, ultimately benefiting more people in need.

SENart project於 At Learning & Teaching Expo 2023
Representatives from New Life’s Inclusive Drama & Art Programme for Youths with Special Educational Needs (SENart project) took part in the Learning & Teaching Expo and shared experiences and rewarding results about how SENart project has been supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) through expressive arts and drama therapy with participants from the education sector.

ASMPT (ASMPT) Christmas Sale 2023
On 19 December, multiple service units at New Life, including Chuk Yuen Integrated Work Centre, Kwai Shing Sheltered Workshop and New Life Building Sheltered Workshop, participated in ASMPT’s "Christmas Sale 2023”, showcasing products made by people in recovery, such as a Christmas-limited aromatherapy stone set. The aim was to enhance ASMPT staff’s awareness of people in recovery.
On the other hand, New Life’s ECF Food Sharing Project has stepped up its collaboration with ASMPT with food recycling boxes placed in ASMPT’s office. The staff can donate their food to the project and reduce food waste.

Kwai Tsui Estate Christmas Celebration
On 16 December, Kwai Shing Sheltered Workshop collaborated with Kwai Tsui Estate to organise a community inclusion festival event called "Happy ‘Kwai Tsui’ Christmas”. Kwai Shing Sheltered Workshop, Chuk Yuen Integrated Work Centre and ECF Food Sharing Project provided a variety of festive activities for residents at Kwai Tsui Estate, including aromatherapy stone DIY workshops, hand-made lemongrass mosquito repellent cream workshop and a series of environmental workshops.

We would like to thank the Hong Kong Housing Authority’s Estate Offices for supporting New Life products, as they ordered "O’Bean” products, "Goodle” handmade noodles and other products and services from our sheltered workshops as gifts for the residents of Kwai Tsui Estate and Kwai Luen Estate.
New Life hopes that through the event, our service users can enhance their engagement with the community and help promote greater social inclusion. It is also our aim to enhance public awareness of New Life’s services and needs from the people in recovery.

Promoting Organic Farm Products At City’s Super Sale Event
On 16 November, New Life Farm was invited by City’s Super to take part in a sale event at its branch in AIRSIDE Mall in Kai Tak. New Life Farm showcased its locally-grown seasonal organic farm products offering customers sustainable, healthy and delicious farm products. At New Life Farm, people in recovery take part in different processes to facilitate the cultivation of farm products. This provides them with ample vocational training opportunities and helps them better engage in a community.

Eco Workshop For HAECO
In late November, Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Limited (HAECO) invited New Life Farm to organise an upcycling workshop, where staff from HAECO recycled metal cans and glass bottles, and turned them into mini potted plants and lamps. The two items are simple yet exquisite, hoping to encourage participants to reduce and utilise waste, and protect the environment.

Kwai Shing Sheltered Workshop: ECF Food Sharing Project Voluntary Activities
We sincerely thank the generous support and participation from various companies and organisations, that allow the ECF Food Sharing Project at Kwai Shing Sheltered Workshop to be able to offer community services to the disadvantaged groups in the neighbourhood.

Let’s enjoy freshly made radish cakes from Delight Kitchen with your family and friends during the Lunar New Year and support New Life’s service!
The Delight kitchen radish cake (about 750g) is available in traditional style and vegetarian style.
The traditional radish cake is made of organic radishes from New Life Farm and local cured meats. The vegetarian cake comprises cordyceps flowers, pickled radishes, and preserved vegetables, making the radish cake more rich in texture and taste!
