dayday330 Promotional Booth — MTR Corporation's "Get Ready for Your Second Half of Life 2023" Seminar
On 2 August, New Life’s dayday330 team was invited by the MTR Corporation to set up a promotional booth at the "Get Ready For Your Second Half Of Life 2023", dedicated to MTR's retiring staff. The primary focus of the team was to highlight the significance of maintaining holistic well-being encompassing body, mind, and spirit, represented by the (330) well-being approach. The team introduced the importance of maintaining body, mind, and spirit (330) well-being, and the "[330] Well-Being Index”, a well-being self-assessment tool to the participants.
Furthermore, the dayday330 team shared the "5 Ways to Well-being" with the participants and distributed informative leaflets. These materials aimed to inspire them to engage in their own "330 micro-break" activities, emphasizing the importance of incorporating these practices into their daily routines for holistic well-being.
Stepping into a new phase of life, one takes time and opportunities to adapt to all sorts of changes such as schedule arrangements, and roles and responsibilities. Their family members and friends are encouraged to pay more attention to the retirees’ mental and physical well-being. Together they can maintain their vitality, and enjoy the best of their life.

drinks330 Joins Food Expo "Bloomy The Tree" Exhibition and Sale
Promoting Healthy Food Products Produced by People In Recovery
In August, drinks330 had its first-ever participation in the Food Expo event at the HKCEC in Wan Chai. At the "Bloomy The Tree" Exhibition zone, drinks330 showcased and sold its "O’Bean” organic soy products and herbal tea, as well as GOODLE Noodles from Kwai Shing Sheltered Workshops, and other healthy food products from Shek Pai Wan Integrated Work Centre. The products were well-received by the visitors.
During the exhibition period, Mr. Clarence LEUNG, BBS, JP, Acting Secretary for Home Affairs and Mrs. Alice CHEUNG, JP, Director of Home Affairs, visited the zone with members of the Advisory Committee on "Enhancing Self-Reliance Through District Partnership Programme”.

The Peninsula Hong Kong Fundraises For New Life Sheltered Workshops’ "Sports Day"
New Life is grateful to receive a donation from The Peninsula Hong Kong of the funds raised from its "Global Wellness Day'' staff activity in June. The donation will be used to support the expenses of the New Life Building Sheltered Workshop’s Sports Day event. The donation was delivered by Mr Kevin TSANG, Hotel Manager of The Peninsula Hong Kong and his team during their visit at the New Life Building Sheltered Workshop in July. Ms. Chris WONG, Head of Professional Services, (Vocational Rehabilitation, Employment Services and Autism Spectrum Disorder Services) received the cheque on behalf of New Life.

Participating In "Be My Buddy Buddy” Menstrual Equity Exhibition Co-organised By HACTL And Free Periods Hong Kong
New Life’s vocational rehabilitation services unit was invited to participate in the "Be My Buddy Buddy” Menstrual Equity Exhibition co-organised by HACTL and Free Periods Hong Kong on 2 August. Covering five themes and 28 menstrual-related knowledge points, the exhibition aimed to leverage interactive ways to help participants dispel myths about menstruation and become better companions for people experiencing their periods, regardless of gender identity. Mr. Benny SIU, Hactl’s Head of Safety, Sustainability and Quality Assurance also led our staff on a tour of HACTL's internal operations and environment, exchanging cooperation plans and gaining valuable insights.

HACTL Organises "New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association Sales Day"
New Life was invited to participate in the "New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association Sales Day" event organised by HACTL. Six service units under New Life’s vocational rehabilitation services joined the sales event held on 28 July, displaying various products from Sheltered Workshops and Integrated Vocational Rehabilitation Service Centres, showcasing the talents of our service users to HACTL staff.

Beijing Dance Academy Professor Liu Yan Visits New Life To Exchange Art Therapy Experiences
Professor LIU Yan from the Beijing Dance Academy, Art Director of Tang Ya Arts Tech Ms. TANG Ya and a delegation visited New Life on 31 July. They visited the New Life Building Sheltered Workshop and expressive art activities, and exchanged and discussed the practice and experiences of art therapy work between the two cities with New Life staff from vocational rehabilitation, community support and residential services.

Artworks by Persons in Recovery Displayed at Pak Tin Estate Redevelopment Project
The Foundation and Demolition for Public Housing Redevelopment at Pak Tin Estate Phase 12 and 13 located in Shek Kip Mei, undertaken by China State Construction Engineering (HK) Limited, used five pieces of artwork created by members of the New Life Building Sheltered Workshop. The artworks were displayed on the hoarding along Nam Cheong Street, conveying a message of community inclusion.

Bean Dregs By-product Upcycling Workshop
New Life’s social enterprises drinks330, Chuk Yuen Integrated Work Centre, together with Rational Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., co-organised a "Bean Dregs By-product Upcycling Workshop". The workshop offered SEN students from C.C.C. Mongkok Church Kai Oi School a creative and fun Home Economics workshop as they learnt to make muffins with organic soymilk and bean dregs. The students collaborated to follow the recipe provided by Chuk Yuen Integrated Work Centre. This activity helped students understand better about organic food production and reducing food waste.

Meiriki Japan Promotes Low Carbon Healthy Diet To New Life’s Social Enterprise Trainees
New Life’s social enterprises cafe330, so330, inno330 and T-cafe participated in the "Know Carbon Save Food - Low Carbon Restaurant Certification Program" organised by Meiriki Japan and the Department of Food and Nutritional Sciences at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Our social enterprises received the recognition of "Low Carbon Restaurant" from the program, indicating our efforts in fostering healthy eating, reducing carbon emissions, and promoting environmental protection and sustainability.
On 28 July, Meiriki Japan and students from the Department of Food and Nutritional Sciences at CUHK visited so330 to promote a low carbon healthy diet to the trainees at so330, through interactive games like "Designing My Menu" to help everyone better understand the low carbon lifestyle.

Kwai Shing Sheltered Workshop: ECF Food Sharing Project
Community Market (Non-profit Campus Bazaar)
On 2 July, Kwai Shing Sheltered Workshop’s ECF Food Sharing Project was invited to participate in the Community Market (Non-profit Campus Bazaar) organised by LKWFSL Lau Wong Fat Secondary School, Federation of Hong Kong Industries, and Sheng Kung Hui’s "Blessed Food" (Kowloon City/Yau Tsim Mong). The ECF Food Sharing Project set up a workshop for making coffee ground deodorant packs for visitors to experience the recycling and reuse of waste and learn more about reducing food waste in the community.
Volunteer Team From Goodwell Property Management Limited
On 8 July, volunteers from Goodwell Property Management Limited visited the Kwai Shing Sheltered Workshop to take part in the recycled food distribution activity, under the ECF Food Sharing Project. Goodwill’s volunteers also donated food products to the project and purchased New Life’s "O’Bean” organic soymilk for the underprivileged to express their love and care for those in need.
