gift330 X Hong Kong Tramways Present Lunar New Year "Lucky Tram” - Getting On A New Year Journey of Arts With People In Recovery
This Lunar New Year, New Life collaborated with Hong Kong Tramways to present the Lunar New Year "Lucky Tram”. The "Lucky Tram" adapted the artworks from New Life's service users with their interpretation of Hong Kong Tramways’ mascot, "Ding Ding Cat”, and their artistic expression of symbolic festive items. The Tram No.30 has been travelling along Hong Kong Island, sending blessings to everyone for the Year of the Rabbit.

Primary Healthcare Blueprint Symposium
On 15 January 2023, Miss Annie TAM Kam-lan, GBS, JP, Chairperson of the Executive Committee of New Life and Mr. Thomas CHU Sai-ming, Chief Executive Officer of New Life were invited to attend the Primary Healthcare Blueprint Symposium organised by Health Bureau. At the symposium, representatives from different parties and sectors, including members of Executive Council, Legislative Council, professional bodies, academic organisations, government departments, NGOs and patient groups, had discussions on promoting primary healthcare services.
With the theme "Reform On The Road", government representatives put forward the five key areas of the recommendations highlighted in the Blueprint, namely developing a community-based primary healthcare system, strengthening primary healthcare governance, consolidating primary healthcare resources, reinforcing primary healthcare manpower, and improving data connectivity and healthcare surveillance.

New Life’s Vocational Rehabilitation Services Units Joined The 56th Hong Kong Brands and Products Expo
New Life’s Vocational Rehabilitation Services units participated in the 56th Hong Kong Brands and Products Expo from 21 to 26 December 2022. New Life, invited by the Social Welfare Department, showcased to the public the products made by our service users, including cleaning tools, snacks, handicrafts and woodwork products, and introduced the organisation’s vision and mission. Miss Alice Mak, SBS, JP, Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs, Mr Chris Sun, JP, Secretary for Labour and Welfare, and Miss Charmaine Lee, JP, Director of Social Welfare, visited New Life’s booth during the Expo.
The products made by our service users as part of their vocational rehabilitation were well-received by the visitors.

The 17th FarmFest
Jointly organised by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department, the Vegetable Marketing Organization and the Fish Marketing Organization, the 17th FarmFest took place at Fa Hui Park in Mong Kok from 25 to 27 December 2022. New Life once again participated in the event showcasing organic farm products from New Life Farm. The farm products marked the results of New Life’s vocational rehabilitation service as our service users take part in every step of the production, from seeding, and harvesting to packaging. Mr. Paul Chan, GBS, JP, Financial Secretary, was one of the honourable guests who visited the booth.

ASMPT Technology Hong Kong’s Corporate Bazaar
Four units from New Life’s Vocational Rehabilitation Services, including Kwai Shing Sheltered Workshop, New Life Building Sheltered Workshop, Chuk Yuen Integrated Work Centre and Shek Pai Wan Integrated Work Centre were invited to attend ASMPT Technology Hong Kong’s Corporate Bazaar, to introduce products made by People in Recovery to its staff on 2 December 2022.
inno330’s "Chinese New Year Flash Fair”
New Life’s social enterprise inno330 held a "Chinese New Year Flash Fair” at the InnoPort in CUHK. The Fair was joined by multiple units from New Life, including Chuk Yuen Integrated Work Centre, rwb330, gift330, eFIT Psychoeducation Program, and dayday330 x newlife.330 on 16 January 2022. The event also gathered various booths operated by CUHK’s alumni selling original handicrafts and cuisine, as well as self-designed sweaters and accessories. The stalls included Wingel Bagel、moon.cake.hk、Rhapsody.jh、clozyhk、From A to B、Rawcraft Handmade, and CUHK’s Wildlife and Animal Caring Society.
Another highlight of the event was the drip coffee workshop that offered participants the experience of making and tasting their own coffee, and enjoy a relaxing time in about 20 minutes.

RECYCLING FEST At GREEN@KWAI TSING
The GREEN@KWAI TSING operated by New Life partnered with Environmental Protection Department’s Green Outreach team to organise the RECYCLING FEST to promote waste reduction and recycling at the community level through various activities, including game booths, upcycling workshops and second-hand exchange markets on 17 December 2022.
The event is part of the large-scale promotional campaign "GREEN@COMMUNITY Recycling Month” running from 26 November to December 31 2022, by the Environmental Protection Department, which celebrates the 25th Anniversary of the HKSAR. At the event, Mr. Raymond Wong, Principal Environmental Protection Officer of Environmental Protection Department, visited GREEN@KWAI TSING’s place-making experience.
The RECYCLING FEST attracted over a hundred participants as they learned more about environmental-friendly handicrafts and the latest services at GREEN@KWAI TSING.

New Life’s Staff Commended At Social Enterprises Employee Recognition Scheme 2022
Eight staff members from New Life’s social enterprises received Employee Recognition at the "GCSE x DBS Hong Kong Social Enterprises Employee Recognition Scheme 2022”. Another staff received Long Service Award and Best Team Spirit Award. These recognitions indicate their outstanding performance and contribution to the development of social enterprises. On 13 January 2023, staff representatives attended the ceremony.

Kwai Shing Sheltered Workshop: ECF Food Sharing Project
Voluntary Work With FoodLink Foundation and DFI Retail Group
The Rice Donation Charity Programme launched by FoodLink Foundation and DFI Retail Group has been supporting New Life’s ECF Food Sharing Project. A team of volunteers from the programme took part in a food distribution activity, giving food packs to the beneficiaries on 7 December 2022.
