Looking Forward to 2022

Although the Pandemic resurged in 2021, giving New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association (New Life) tough challenges, our pace to move on never stopped. We have made new attempts and been able to provide diversified services to the people in recovery of mental illness (PIR).

Looking forward to the New Year, New Life will continue to develop in mental health sector, and the priority will continue to be the needs of PIR and that of the general public. With our innovation in service provision, as well as the support from friends and partners, we endeavor to build a society with full holistic well-being.

Mission Accomplished for farmfresh330 Queensway Shop

New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association (New Life) officially opened organic retail shop farmfresh330 (Queensway shop) in March 2019, which was the 22nd social enterprise under New Life. Not only offering opportunity to people in recovery of mental illness (PIR) for training and working, the shop was also promote "Healthy Diet” and support "Products of Benefiting More”, "Fair Trade” and "Local Production”. Since its opening, the Queensway shop had been supplying diversified and quality food choice for customers in the area thus was welcomed among consumers. As the lease contract will expire in February this year, the shop will leave LAB CONCEPT afterwards. Before closure, a series of time-limited offers will be released as gratitude to the support of our customers.

Staff from New Life Social Enterprise awarded in Social Enterprises Employee Recognition Scheme 2021 by HKGCSE

The Social Enterprises Employee Recognition Scheme 2021 is a significant event held by HKGCSE, the annual award presentation ceremony was held on 20 December 2021.

This year, a total of 7 New Life representatives had won the Outstanding Social Enterprise Staff Award, and another staff had won the Long Service Award, the Most Cooperative Spirit Award and Progress Award. Their outstanding performance and dedication to Social Enterprise were affirmed and highly appreciated.

 

EFC Food Sharing Project

Supported by Foodlink Foundation and DFI Retail Group, the EFC Food Sharing Project held a joint corporate volunteer event on 14 December 2021. At the event, a total of 250 gift packs were delivered by the representatives and volunteers of the two own brands of Wellcome, Yu Pin King and 7-Eleven, to the beneficiaries aiming to alleviate their financial burden.


HSBC Hong Kong Community Festival - Handicraft Workshop

With the aim to promote social inclusion, the iSPA Support Centre for Persons with Autism, together with the volunteer team of Leo Club of West Kowloon and Ka Lok Association - Home for Rehabilitation Limited, participated the Handicraft Workshop organized by Tin King Sheltered Workshop of New Life on 4 to 11 December 2021 at HSBC Hong Kong Community Festival.

The workshop consisted of 4 sessions, including Robot and Four-wheeler experience, Computer Programming, Wooden Craftsmanship and Agriculture, and also Flower Plot Plantation. Participants learnt to apply the social skills they had learnt and had the chance to better communicate with the others during the workshop. Other volunteers agreed that the workshop had enhanced their understanding and acceptance to Persons with Autism.

 

HACTL GREEN Day 2021

Invited by HACTL, New Life had organized an environment friendly corporate event, namely "Green Day”, on 10 December 2021 in the exhibition hall at HACTL office building. New Life’s representative were also invited to be the officiating guest for the opening ceremony of the event. 

4 promotional booths were set up by New Life Vocational Rehabilitation services, they include "Made in HK”, "Organic Products”, "Unpacked” and ”Vegan Food”. Staff from HACTL visited the booths and knew more about the production of our self-brand. They also had better understanding towards our service users and their work training.
