New Life x HKJC ‘Chill Green Farmony’ Sharing Session Successfully Held
The sharing session for the New Life x HKJC "Chill Green Farmony" initiative was successfully held on 25 July. The event was officiated Dr. Samuel CHUI, JP, Director of Environmental Protection (fourth from left). Funded from The Hong Kong Jockey Club, the project introduced organic farming trials at two transitional housing sites across Hong Kong. Ms. Vivian KONG, SBS, MH, Ambassador of the project, also attended the sharing session and joined other participants in celebrating the project’s achievements. During the event, New Life organised a "From Farm to Table" experience activity, enabling attendees to gain an in-depth understanding of the cultivation process—from soil preparation to harvest—through a guided farm tour, and to personally engage with the principles and practices of organic farming.
Participants also had the opportunity to use organically grown farm produce to make dumplings and snacks, showcasing the fruitful outcome of their work. From planting to cooking, they savoured the fresh flavours of the food, highlighting the full journey of the farm-to-table enjoyment.
