Mental Wellness "Lay Leader” Training and Promotion Project – Mental Wellness in Action is jointly organized by the New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association and The Education University of Hong Kong, with funding support from the Mental Health Initiatives Funding Scheme (Phase 1) of Health Bureau. This program aims to help community members understand mental health and raise awareness of seeking early help.


Adult ADHD Mindfulness Therapy Group

This group is for adults facing ADHD to practice meditation to improve self-observation and concentration skills, thereby reducing impulsive behaviors and the impact of ADHD conditions on their daily life.

Mindfulness Course: Research Project on Reducing Symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

This is the third phase of the Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy study and will explore the effectiveness of Mindfulness Cognitive Therapy on reducing symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder. Participants is required to complete the questionnaires before, after, and 6 months after the course ends. Participants’ grouping will be assigned by lots drawing.

This research is organized by the Faculty of Medicine, The Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Car, and Thomas Jing Centre for Mindfulness Research and Training of CUHK. New Life clinical psychological service team was invited to assist the research project.

Recruitment of Research Subject:

  • Aged 18 or over
  • Able to read Chinese and can communicate in Cantonese
  • Research fellows will conduct a questionnaire for applicants to screen eligible participants

eGPS: Course on dealing with Insomnia

This course will use the principles of cognitive-behavioral therapy to explain the causes of insomnia and ways to improve sleep. Participants will be guided in groups to apply what they have learned to their daily lives and adjust their sleep habits, so as to reduce the impact of insomnia on their daily lives.

WRAP® Wellness Recovery Action Plan

In the three-hour workshop, five key concepts of recovery will be introduced: hope, personal responsibility, education, self-advocacy, and support. Participants will develop their "Wellness Recovery Action Plan” and take the first step towards a healthy life.
