Programme Overview
Created and funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, JC PROcruit C offers first-time-job-seekers the opportunities to kick start their self-discovery journeys. The programme developed 16 emerging and promising professions in the areas of Creativity, Technology, Business and Healthcare for graduates to actualise career goals and create social value to the community.
Programme Objective
By adopting the unique and structured strength-based talent matching approach through Values, Attitudes, Skills and Knowledge (VASK) of this programme, young talents would have access to the human-centric professions, training and career coaching.
Programme Content
- Navigate on a professional career with a one-year traineeship
- Transition to desired profession with tailor-made multi-day bootcamp and professional career coaching along the journey
- Grow professional knowledge and network through on-the-job training and mentorship
Eligibility
- A Hong Kong resident;
- Legally permissible to work in Hong Kong at the time of application;
- A graduate of a bachelor’s degree, sub-degree programme or equivalent qualifications in 2021, 2022 or 2023;
- With no more than six months of full-time employment on a consecutive (not accumulative) basis, including probation period since graduation.
Well-being Planner
New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association is one of the industry convenors of "Healthcare for good” and created the new job role – well-being planner. Well-being planners help to promote physical and mental health by introducing "5 ways to well-being” to the community.
Purpose:
Raise mental health literacy and early awareness on wellbeing and mental health needs; promote self-management of lifestyle habits to enhance mental wellbeing.
Job duties:
- Provide 1:1 or group well-being planning services for the service users with evidence-based well-being tools, including assessment, goal setting, action planning and follow-up review
- Assist in planning, promoting and organising online and offline psycho-educational programmes to raise public awareness and address the stigma of mental well-being
- Assist in providing holistic care services to address the needs of service users and their family members (caretakers) with their professional teammates
Career Prospects:
After completion of the one-year traineeship programme, a Well-being Planner will be able to develop skills and working experience that allow them to pursue other career opportunities, such as Psychological well-being officer, Welfare worker, Hostel instructor, Research assistant, or further studies for mid-term and long-term career advancement: Social work, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy
