Family Wellness Centre

Introduction

Family Wellness Centre is a resource centre dedicated to parent/relatives and carers of Persons in Mental Recovery (PIR) or with psychological distress. Through professional advice and timely intervention, we aim at supporting carers of PIR in enhancing their capacity in taking care of PIR. The centre serves as a space for carers to exchange experiences, to seek mutual support and to cope with the stress during the caregiving process. Our service also promotes public understanding and acceptance of PIR in the community.

Our service

  • Drop-in services:The centre offers a comfortable space for service users to take a break and connect with others.
  • Consultation and resource sharin:Our social worker on duty provides information on mental health knowledge, community resources for recovery, and follow-up recommendations.
  • Short-term Counselling Services:Our professional team provides casework counselling to help carers in handling issues with PIR, managing crisis and enhancing caregiving skills.
  • Educational and Therapeutic GroupsWe organize trainings, talks, workshops and groups to increase carers’ knowledge of mental health and recovery, improving communication and relationships between family members.
  • Wellness Programs :We organize various self-care and wellness programs to promote well-being among carers.
  • Mutual support group:We arrange regular meetings and bring carers together to share experiences and foster mutual support.
  • Carer Peer Support ServicesOur carer peer support workers share their lived experience and offer support and encouragement to carers.
  • Carer resource Sharing and BorrowingThe centre provides reference materials on mental health, family relationship and communication for carers to borrow.
  • Community EducationWe organize community education and programmes to promote public understanding and acceptance of PIR, fostering an inclusive and caring environment.

Service Boundary

  • New Territories East (Tai Wai, Sha Tin, Ma On Shan, Fo Tan, Tai Po, Fanling, Sheung Shui, North District)

Target Group

  • Family members and carers of persons in mental recovery
  • Family members and carers of individuals experiencing emotional or mental distress

Service Fees

  • Annual family membership fee: $21
  • Fees for specific program activities will be applied based on the category and cost of the program

To Renew

Complete the centre’s membership application form.

Complete the renewal form, recommended to be submitted to the centre before April each year.

Submission Methods:

Via WhatsApp to the centre’s phone number/In person at the centre/By mail
Alternatively, applications can be made through referrals from other organizations.(Downloadreferral form)

Termination of Services

  • Notify the centre in writing or decline to renew the annual membership upon expiration.
  • We shall arrange referrals to other appropriate services as necessary.
