Operation Model

Employment plus Training Placements

In order that as many persons with mental illness as possible can be benefited from our work; we offer both employment opportunities and training placements. Trainees who demonstrate outstanding performance and capabilities are given the opportunity to be promoted to senior trainee. With further progress, they might be employed by our social enterprise or they could go on to seek employment in the open market. This promotion system helps motivate high caliber trainees.

An Integrated Work Setting

Our social enterprises are situated in the community, thus facilitating our service users make frequent contact with the public. Through day-to-day interaction and communication with customers, not only do people with mental illness learn how to get along well with the others, but the general public can also get a chance to know them more, which helps promote social inclusion.

Provision of On-going Support

We provide one-stop and on-going support for people with mental illness, from admission to our Vocational Rehabilitation services, on-site work training, seeking employment in the open market to post-employment follow-up services.

			New Life Healthy Living Specialty/Organic Shop won “Corporate Social Responsibility Award” in the “Hong Kong Proud Corporate Brand Awards 2009”
			The first theme café in memory of Teresa Teng in Hong Kong - Teresa New Life Coffee Shop commenced business
			Teresa New Life Coffee Shop won “Social Enterprise Service Award” in the “Top Service Award 2009” organised by Next Magazine
			The second New Life Gourmet at Shek Pai Wan commenced operation
			New Life Healthy Living Specialty/Organic Shop won “Corporate Social Responsibility Award” in the “Hong Kong Proud Corporate Brand Awards 2008”
			The fifth New Life Healthy Living Specialty/ Organic Shop at Discovery Bay commenced business, and we were honored to have Chief Executive of HKSAR to officiate at the Opening Ceremony
			Development of New Life’s own brand organic soybean products, healthy bakery and healthy prepackaged food, providing one-stop service from production to retailing

			Obtained the contract for providing property management and cleaning services for Greenery Villa
			The first New Life Healthy Living Specialty/ Organic Shop opened at Tuen Mun Station, West Rail Line
			New Life Restaurant was awarded as the Champion Project of “2003 Best Practice Award in Social Welfare” organised by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service
			The cultural kiosk - Dragon Passion located at Lai Chi Kok commenced business
			The third New Life Convenience Store opened at the Rehabilitation Building of Kowloon Hospital
			New Life Farm switched from traditional to organic farming
			New Life Restaurant was graded 5-star by Food and Environmental Hygiene Department
			Successfully bidding for the first large-scale cleaning tender - Kwai Tsing Cleaning Service, to provide cleaning service for 14 recreation sites under Leisure and Cultural Services Department in Kwai Tsing District
			The first New Life Restaurant opened at Shek Kip Mei Park Indoor Games Hall
			The second New Life Convenience Store opened at Shek Kip Mei Park Indoor Games Hall
			New Life Convenience Store was opened at West Wing of Kowloon Hospital as a pilot project
			New Life Vegetable Stall and New Life Fruit Stall commenced business in Tsz Wan Shan
