A Brief Introduction to the Service

Provide service users with appropriate work training and leisure activities

Provide simple nursing service in order to enhance the quality of life of service users

In October 2005, the Social Welfare Department introduced a new project, “Work Extension Programme” which aimed to meet the service needs, including training and nursing/health care need, of the existing trainees of Sheltered Workshops, aged over 50 who are unable to receive work training due to their old age or deterioration in work abilities. Kwai Shing Sheltered Workshop and Tin King Sheltered Workshop have commenced operating this programme since January 2006.

Services provided by this programme run on a daily basis according to a specified schedule, which includes basic work training, self-care training, developmental activities and community participation programme, all of which are aimed at maintaining the quality of life of service users in all facets.
