“Fly High!” Multimedia Art Exhibition

“Fly High!” Multimedia Art Exhibition, which featured a collection of Multimedia Art and Installation Art craftworks created by a group of people with mental illness standing vigorously in the face of discrimination, was held successfully from 28 to 30 January 2010 (Thursday to Saturday) at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

The exhibition featured a wide array of distinct elements, including: around 100 pieces of Multimedia Art created by people with mental illness and 5 pieces of Installation Art craftworks made together by people with mental illness and volunteers, a “Tree of Blessings” for visitors to leave words of encouragement to show their support for people with mental illness, a “Patchwork 3D Wall Painting” which was made up of around 100 tissue boxes and measured 8 by 10 feet, specially designed to allow individual visitors to participate in the creation process by altering the whole picture through painting differently on each box. This wall painting was actually a metaphor of our society – each and every one of us had a part to play in building up an inclusive society.
